Who We Do

The Canadian Firefighter Cancer Foundation (CFCF) is dedicated to supporting firefighters and their families while advancing awareness, prevention, and advocacy related to occupational cancer across Canada. Our work focuses on three core pillars designed to create meaningful, long-term impact for the fire service community.

Support

We provide compassionate support for firefighters and families navigating a cancer diagnosis. CFCF aims to connect individuals with trusted resources, peer support networks, and guidance during treatment, recovery, and beyond. Our goal is to ensure no firefighter or family feels isolated during one of the most challenging times of their lives.

Awareness & Education

We raise national awareness about occupational cancer risks in the fire service and promote evidence-based prevention strategies. Through educational resources, research sharing, and practical guidance on decontamination, exposure reduction, and early detection, we empower firefighters and departments to take proactive steps to protect their health.

Advocacy

CFCF advocates for stronger protections, improved policies, and increased recognition of occupational cancer affecting firefighters. We work to support research initiatives, influence policy discussions, and encourage collaboration across departments, associations, and health professionals to improve outcomes and protect future generations of firefighters.
